Rob Kinkelaar

Rob started designing and manufacturing awards in junior high school for his brother’s business, The Trophy Shop, in Dodge City, Kansas. Before most computerized equipment was available, sign manufacturing was tedious and he worked long hours with pantograph engravers that required everything to be done manually. Eventually, Rob got the hell out of Dodge… and made it as far as Wichita three hours away, where he had a stint as a manager of a local Quick Sign studio that manufactured exterior and interior signage. From there, Rob became an account manager for GraphicsSystems, a national signage supplier now part of Identity Group. During his tenure with GraphicsSystems, Rob worked directly with designers, architects and creative teams on everything from small, local projects to large, corporate signage and branding programs for national accounts such as Pizza Hut, Rent-A-Center, Cessna Aircraft and Phillips 66 Petroleum.

In 1998, Rob headed west to Fort Fun, er, Collins, CO, where he eventually found ADCON. On his first day as a sales consultant, Rob was introduced to the then-small restaurant chain, Chipotle Mexican Grill. More than 19 years and 3,000 stores later, Chipotle continues to be a valued partner and legacy account that he is very proud to have had the privilege to be a part of. When the opportunity to purchase ADCON from the original owners arose in 2015, Rob partnered with then General Manager Spencer Jorgensen, and the rest, as they say, is history.
